NFL: Week 13 predictions

This week is a very intense week in the NFL. There are many games in which the victory can go to either team. Some of the most intense games are: Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints vs. Washington Redskins, and Minnesota Vikings vs. Arizona Cardinals. These are the top teams in the NFL today, and it would be tough if they lost this week. My prediction for this week is Colts, Saints, and Vikings will be victorious because nobody expects the best teams to lose. According to ESPN Some of the experts such as Jaworski, Schefter, and Hoge also predict the Colts, Saints, and Vikings to win this week. It would be a great upset if the Colts and Saints lose this week because those teams are both undefeated, and if the Vikings lose to the Cardinals, it would be an upset because Brett Favre is playing the best season of his 18 seasons in the NFL, and also the Vikings are 10-1 in the NFL today.

Phoenix Suns Season So Far

Early in the season, and the Phoenix Suns are dominating the National Basketball Association. They have one of the best records so far with 14 wins and only 5 losses. The Suns had three four game winning streaks so far in the season, and they are currently on a two game losing streak. According to www.nba.com the Suns score an average of 110.2 points per game, a field goal percentage of 49.9%, a 3 point percentage of 43.6%, and a free throw percentage of 73.3%. Phoenix Suns star Amare Stoudemire leads the team with 19.2 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game, and 1.2 blocks per game. Another Suns star Steve Nash leads the team with an incredible 11.5 assists per game. According to www.blogs.suns.com “In other words, the Suns are proving to have an outstanding mix of veterans, youth and on-court chemistry — three things GM Steve Kerr was hoping to find when he re-arranged the roster during the off-season.”. This is true, the suns have two of the top players in the whole NBA (Nash and Stoudemire). The suns should have an outstanding season if everything goes as planned for them. As stated by www.blogs.suns.com, “Through 11 games, the Suns are the only NBA team to have scored at least 100 points every time they’ve taken the court.”. This shows that the Suns are playing very well every time that they play. Without any doubt the Suns are a playoff team this year. They will do just fine this season if everything goes as expected of them.

Bulls Season So Far

The 2009-2010 season has started out very well for the Chicago Bulls. According to www.nba.com, The bulls won 5 out of their 6 first games, but as the season went on, the Bulls are currently 7-9 in the 7th place in front of Charlotte Bobcats (7-10). the Bulls were on a 5 game losing streak early in the season, but a win against the Detroit Pistons ended the streak. The Bulls score an average of 91.4 points per game, a field goal percentage of 43.5%, 3 point percentage of 31.1%, and a free throw percentage of 74.1%. Chicago’s leader Derrick Rose averages 15.8 points per game, 3.10 rebounds per game, and 5.3 assists per game. Another Chicago Bulls star Luol Deng averages 18.1 points per game, 8.50 rebounds per game, and 1.6 assists per game. According to www.bullsmix.com “However, there are some concerns. We only have ten healthy players right now, and have really only been giving minutes to six or seven of them. Tyrus Thomas being out is not necessarily a good thing, but it will give both Taj Gibson and James Johnson a chance to prove themselves.”. The Bulls picked up rookie power forward Taj Gibson from Southern California, and James Johnson from Wake Forest. These are key additions because Bulls can certainly use the talent of these two rookie athletes. To sum up, the Bulls look like a good playoff team. They need to stay healthy, play good, and be disciplined and good things will happen for them this year.

Chicago Bears Season So Far

This year was a good start for the Chicago Bears. They traded their previous quarterback Kyle Orton and their first round pick to the Denver Broncos, for a Pro Bowl Franchise quarterback Jay Cutler. Many Bears fans believed that this is the year that the Chicago Bears will dominate the NFL this year, unfortunately not. The bears have lost their veteran linebacker Brian Urlacher who according to www.wikipedia.org was a 6 times Pro Bowler, to a wrist injury in the season opener against the rivals Green Bay Packers. There was hope for Urlacher’s return early in the season, but Head coach Lovie Smith has announced that Urlacher will not return for the rest of the 2009 season. This has really stunned the Chicago Bears fans because he is arguably the best linebacker in the National Football League today. The fans still had faith that Jay Cutler will play like a Pro Bowl quarterback. The Chicago Bears even picked up a veteran Offensive Tackle Orlando Pace, who used to play for the Saint Louis Rams, to protect the great quarterback. The beginning of the season was a good start, but as the season was coming to an end, the Chicago Bears have lost their 4 last games. According to www.nfl.com as of week 12 in the season, Jay Cutler has 16 touchdowns, 20 interceptions, 2,671 passing yards, and a quarterback rating of 74.4. Cutler has the most interceptions thrown so far in the season out of all the quarterbacks in the league. He throws an average of 1.81 picks per game so far in the season, and 1.45 touchdowns per game through week 12. this is a very bad touchdown to interception ratio, but hopefully Cutler will reduce the amount of interceptions per game, and increase the amount of touchdowns per game. Another key loss for the Chicago Bears is linebacker Lance Briggs. Briggs is placed as questionable against the Rams this Sunday, so the Bears have picked up a veteran linebacker Cato June who previously played for the Indianapolis Colts. According to Chicago trade rumors, [Cato June] “has 73 career starts in six seasons with the Colts and Buccaneers, but the linebacker has been out of action since the preseason. The one-time Pro Bowler, 30, was with the Texans during training camp but was cut after breaking his forearm. June’s signing is related to Briggs’ injury situation.” hopefully this will spark up the Bears defense who was quiet for the whole season so far.

Who is Best Undefeated Team in the NFL…

There is just 5 weeks left until the end of the regular season in the NFL and yet there are two teams that are undefeated. The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints both have a perfect season so far with a record 11-0. But the question is: will there be two undefeated teams in the National Football League this year? According to www.nfl.com , the Saints, for the first time in their franchise history, went 11-0. The Colts on the other hand, lost 14 out of 75 games played since 2005. That is impressive for a football team to win 81% of their season games since the year 2005. Drew Brees, of the Saints, is arguably the best quarterback this season along with Peyton Manning of the Colts. Two of the leagues top quarterbacks have led their team to an unbelievable season so far, but the question is still: will there, for the first time in NFL history, be two undefeated teams? According to www.whatifsports.com ,“Never have two teams ever gone undefeated in the same season. Don’t expect it to happen this season, either. But as with anything, there is a chance” it is really hard to tell if there will be two undefeated teams this year, but this is the NFL, and upsets may happen. The Saints have a very powerful offense and a very good defense, while the Colts have a nearly unstoppable offense, and a decent defense. The odds are that if anyone will go undefeated this season, it will be the Saints because of their powerhouse offense and a very good defense. The colts previous head coach Tony Dungy has retired and a new rookie head coach Jim Caldwell has taken his spot. The Saint’s head coach Sean Payton has coached the saints since 2006.

Reality Paper

There are many ways that a person can define reality. One person’s reality differs from another persons reality because we all see things in a different way. The color ‘red’ is a good example because some people may refer to the color red as death, blood, or violence while other people may refer to the color red as love, or a bright future. There are many ways that peoples viewpoints of reality differ because no one sees things the same way that others do.

Reality is basically the image formed by a persons mind, there is no way that anyone can verify if there really is a world beyond a persons reality because everything that we see is just an image formed by our mind. To one person reality can pretty much be anything and everything that has to do with life, but to another person reality might only mean what ever their eyes see. Another way that a person’s view of reality may differ from others is the way we look at certain things. What one person may see as a positive outcome, another person may think of the same outcome as a negative thing. I have an example from my past that dealt with this experience because when ever our football team loses to a team, we feel sad that we haven’t won, but on the other hand, the team that beat us is feeling good that they have beat us.

The way that people look at certain things might be the reason why no body has the same view of reality. People only see what they want to see. An example of this is most people do not look at the negative side of a situation because they fear that thinking about the negative part would only bring more problems to their life. That is why people only want to think about the positive things that come out of the situation to reduce stress on themselves and others they care about.

It is hard for anyone to determine whether there is a world that lives beyond a persons mind because even if there was such of a thing, no body would be able to see what that world would look like because every body only sees the world that their mind wants them to see. People can only imagine what that different world would look like but in reality, no one can experience what it is like to live in a different world other then what your mind wants you to see.

The main reason why people have different viewpoints about reality from each other is because no body can see what others feel. There is no one that can tell exactly how another person feels. People can only assume how others feel by looking at the way that they act and by looking at what their mood is. It may seem like a person is happy but on the inside they might be dying because of an event that has happened in their life.

In conclusion, there are many ways that a person can define the word reality. For me, reality is just a image that is formed by your mind and you can not see anything beyond what your mind wants you to see. There is no such a thing as absolute reality because no one can tell whether there really is a world beyond our mind.

Image Analysis – Chapter 2 Watchmen

Chapter 2 page 12 has a important picture because it is the funeral of Edward Morgan Blake who is the comedian. It is an important image because it shows the way people feel about the comedians death. In the picture we see a coffin, a hole for the coffin, a tombstone that says “Edward Morgan Blake 1924-1985”, Dr. Manhattan, the detective, lots of people, and it is raining. The reason the author made this picture bigger than any other picture on page 12 is because this picture shows the importance of the funeral. I think the author put rain in this picture to represent that this is a sad, gloomy day. There are people saying prayers to the comedian which means that they must have respected him before he was killed. Looking at the facial expressions on the people attending the funeral, we observe that they are all sad and they are crying. I realized that the author made the rain puddles in the hole seem as if they are someones tears falling In the hole that will hold the comedians coffin. Everyone at the funeral is dressed in purple, while Dr. Manhattan and the detective are the only ones that are dressed differently. I think the reason for this is everyone but Dr. Manhattan and the detective are relatives of the comedian.

I remember coming to America like it was yesterday,

Wait, what it did happen yesterday?

It sure feels like it did,

No, no it couldn’t have

The date was February 25, 1999

That’s almost 11 years ago,

Anyways, I was 6 years old at that time

I remember the fear that I felt when I first found out.

The fear of not only leaving the country,

But the fear of going to a new school,

Learning the new language,

Or meeting new friends.

The fact is I didn’t want to come here,

But as years passed,

I’m glad I came.

Dog Fighting

Two years ago in July 18,2007, Michael Vick was found guilty for dogfighting. Michael Vick held the dogfighting ring at his property at southeastern Virginia along with three other people. Vick who previously was the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons was charged for being involved in dogfighting. Dogfighting is a felony in Virginia and 47 other states and if found guilty, he would serve up to six years in jail along with $350,000 dollars in fines. Recently, Michael Vick was released out of jail, and because he admitted to the fact that he did such a felony, the court lowered his sentence to two years instead of six years. Today, Michael Vick is the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. In my opinion, Michael Vick should be suspended from the NFL for at least another season or two because he committed a crime that is illegal in 47 states. Allowing Vick to be reinstated into the NFL is a mistake in my opinion because he needs to understand that what he did was wrong, and letting him play this season for the Eagles is more of a reward then a punishment for what he did in July 2007. He killed many innocent dogs just to get money and that is the wrong thing to do when you’re a player in the NFL, because he is a role model for a lot of people and lots of people look up to him. He was one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, and that is not how a player or a role model should act.

My name is Matt Jaworski and I am seventeen years old. I am currently a senior at Maine East High School and I would like you to know a little more about me. Some of the things I enjoy doing on my free time is hang out with friends, play sports, watch TV, listening to music, going to the movies, and just having a great time. I play football for the Maine East Football Team. This is currently my fourth year playing football here at Maine East. The position that I play in football is Wide Receiver and Defensive Back. The thing that gets me most excited is going to football practice every day because that is a sign that the upcoming game is coming closer and closer. Another thing that I love is playing in the football games. It’s such an adrenaline rush as soon as I step on the field on a Friday night, and the Friday night lights are shining down because I know there and then that I will have to do whatever it takes to get a win. Another thing that gets me excited is listening to music. I listen to music a lot whenever I do homework, or whenever I am just bored. I listen to many Genres of music and that includes techno, trance, house, jump style, hard style, electro, and etcetera. I hope that through this paper you learned a little more about me then you used to. I look forward to learning more about you.
